Tracker Installation Instructions for Version 5.5.4 (New Installations)
Before installing ProblemTracker, please verify that you have a (web) server machine that meets the ProblemTracker system requirements and that the required software (web server, database drivers, etc.) has already been installed on that machine.
If you are installing ProblemTracker for the first time, please follow the instructions in one of the two columns below (Install from Internet or Install from CD), then continue with Step A.
If you are upgrading your ProblemTracker installation, please follow the instructions in the ProblemTracker Version 5.5.4 Upgrade Information section of our web site instead of the instructions below.
You can be notified about new ProblemTracker releases or urgent support information by signing up on a ProblemTracker Mailing List.
There are two products available for download: ProblemTracker Version 5.5.4 and ProblemTracker Enterprise Edition Version 5.5.4. Please do not download and install Enterprise Edition unless you have purchased Enterprise Edition. If you have purchased (or purchased an upgrade to) Enterprise Edition, then your license key email will list ProblemTracker Enterprise Edition as the product and should include license keys for the Alerts and Discussion features. If you are not sure what you have purchased, please send an email to NetResults Sales with your company name and approximate date of purchase.

Select Start > Programs > NetResults ProblemTracker 5 > Quick Start Guide or select Start > Programs > NetResults ProblemTracker > Help Library and read the manuals to get further information on how to use ProblemTracker. If, for any reason, you are unable to browse to the ProblemTracker Help on your machine, you can browse to a copy on our web site, just click here.
Select Start > Programs > NetResults ProblemTracker 5 > Evaluation Workgroup and login using the user ID Admin and the password Admin to begin using the evaluation workgroup (project) that was created during installation (unless you chose not to install one)
OR
Select Start > Programs > NetResults ProblemTracker 5 > Workgroup Management System and login using the user ID ptadmin and the password ptadmin to use the Workgroup (project) Management System to create (Add) a new workgroup (perhaps using a different "template" (e.g. Support, Help Desk, Web Site Development, etc.) or database type from the one you selected for your evaluation workgroup at installation time).
