What is NetResults Tracker Online?

NetResults Tracker Online (NRT Online) is the hosted version of NetResults Tracker. This product is hosted by NetResults instead of being installed on your own machine. Can I modify a User ID in my NetResults Tracker Online workgroup?

PLEASE NOTE: This FAQ entry is only applicable for customers using the NetResults Tracker Online product, which is hosted by NetResults. If you have NetResults Tracker installed on your own machine, this entry does not pertain to your product. For information on modifying a User ID in the non-hosted version of NetResults Tracker, please review the Editing a User section of the UMS Help Guide.

It is not possible for you to modify the User ID of a user account in your NetResults Tracker Online workgroup. However, you can modify other properties of a user's account such as password, first and last names, email, address, etc. To modify the information in a user account, perform the steps below

  1. Login to your workgroup as Admin (or a user account with the Admin privilege)
  2. Click on the Admin icon
  3. Click on the User Accounts link
  4. Click on the Edit button to the left of the user account you wish to modify
  5. Make changes to the user account and click OK to save the changes.

If you need to rename a User ID, this will only be done in cases where there is a typo or misspelled User ID. If you need to completely change the User ID (not due to a typo or misspelling), delete the user and add a new one to replace it using these steps. If you need to rename a User ID, contact NetResults Technical Support to do this for you.

How do I add or remove user(s) from my NetResults Tracker Online workgroup?

If I delete a user from my NetResults Tracker Online workgroup, will all of the history of the actions they performed be lost?

No, when you delete a user all of the historical information about what they did in the system (e.g. adding or modifying records) will be preserved. If the user you deleting is assigned to any records, you will be prompted to select another user as a replacement.

Can I change the license type of a user in my NetResults Tracker Online workgroup?

PLEASE NOTE: This FAQ entry is only applicable for customers using the NetResults Tracker Online product, which is hosted by NetResults. If you have NetResults Tracker installed on your own machine, this entry does not pertain to your product. For information on modifying a username in the non-hosted version of NetResults Tracker, please review the Editing a User section of the UMS Help Guide.

A user's license type can only be changed on your behalf. Keep in mind that if you wish to upgrade a user from a Restricted user to a Standard (Static) user, the user will have more privileges than they did when they were restricted. Once converted, the user will be a member of the Users group. If you need to downgrade a user from Standard (Static) to Restricted, once the user is converted, the user will no longer be associated with the historical actions they performed. For example, any actions performed by the user will be noted as "userID_old" in the history (where "userID_old" is the actual User ID of the account that was downgraded). Any personal reports and preferences configured for the user will also be lost when they are downgraded.

For more information about user license types, please review this Help section. Floating users discussed in this section are not available for Tracker Online. If you need to change a user's license type, contact NetResults Technical Support to do this for you.

How do I backup the NetResults Tracker Online database?

Since you are a NRT Online customer, we backup your NetResults Tracker database on a daily basis. For more details, please see the NRT Online Policies page.

Also, if you want to take your own backup of the records in the database, then you can export all the records in the database to CSV format by using the Export operation available in the Query page. To do this, create a report layout that has includes all of the fields that you wish to include in this export. Then, run a query that will return all records (by clicking on the Clear button, then clicking on the Run Query button). When the results are displayed, click on the Export button to export the results to a CSV file. For more information about creating report layouts, please see the Using Saved Queries & Reports section of the online User Help Guide or you can reach context sensitive help by clicking on the "Help" icon in the top right corner of each page in NetResults Tracker.

How do I get a backup of the NetResults Tracker Online database before I make administrative changes?

Since you are a NRT Online customer, we backup your NetResults Tracker database on a daily basis. For your convenience, you may want to schedule your administrative changes to be done right after the daily backup is made. Contact NetResults Technical Support to find out the daily backup time. If you want to take a backup of the records at another time, you can either:

  1. Export your records to a CSV file using the Query operation. Click here for details.

    OR
  2. Request an extra backup of your database be made for a fee. To request an extra backup, please fill out the NRT Online Order form or contact NetResults Technical Support.
